The League of Women Voters of Arapahoe and Douglas Counties is sponsoring a BEYOND PLASTICS webinar presentation on Wednesday, March 15 from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM online. We'll share information from Beyond Plastics renowned pediatrician and toxicologist Dr. Philip J. Landrigan to learn what we know, what we don’t know, and what researchers strongly suspect about the impact of plastics on human health and future generations. In addition, Sandy Schuster from JeffCo LWV and a member of the Colorado Climate Emergency Task Force will update us on legislation concerning plastic use in Colorado. Organizer Alice Ramsey, LWV of Arapahoe and Douglas Counties member and Climate Emergency Task Force volunteer asks, "Have you have been asked how many bags you will use when you check out at the grocery store? I was surprised and pleased at the same time. I bring my own bags so I wasn’t charged for using plastic bags to bring my groceries home. But I ran into someone today at the store who was not pleased. Somehow I thought everyone would be happy to do something to help reduce the usage of mostly single-use bags. I guess not. I think after watching this webinar you will want to do even more to reduce the use of plastics in almost every crevice of our lives."
